Our New Look and the Vision Behind It
At Shine Communities, we believe that growth is a natural part of a life of purpose. Just as our participants work every day to reach new milestones and build their independence, our organisation has also been on a journey of transformation. Today we are so excited to share our new look with you and explain why this change is such an important step for our community.

Our New Name: We are now Shine Communities
For many years we were known as Shine Social and Communities. This name served us well as we established our roots in the region but as we looked toward the future we realised that simplicity is the heartbeat of genuine connection.
By refining our name, we are making a clear statement about who we are today. We are not just a social service; we are a collective of people, homes and real world opportunities. The word “Communities” reflects the belonging we see everyday in our SIL homes, at the Coffee Van and out in the neighborhood. It is a shorter name that puts the focus exactly where it belongs: on the people we support and the inclusive world we are building together.

New Leadership: Meet Our Directors
Every great evolution requires a strong foundation and we are incredibly proud to introduce our new Directors, Sarah Healy and Ashleigh McGuire.
Sarah and Ashleigh bring a fresh energy and wealth of professional experience to Shine Communities. They are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of leadership while ensuring that we never lose our human touch. Their vision is centered on bridging the gaps in support to ensure every participant is seen as a unique individual with their own dreams and aspirations.
Under their leadership we are focusing more than ever on creating stable supportive environments where our multi-skilled team can truly walk alongside our families. Their commitment to integrity and professional excellence is the driving force behind this new chapter.

We believe inclusion must go beyond acceptance; it must mean genuine respect belonging and opportunity. The Meaning Behind Our New Identity
Our new visual identity is more than just a fresh coat of paint. Every color and shape has been chosen to reflect our values and our promise to you.
- The Typographic Logo: Our new logo features bold and grounded lettering. The strength of the “shine” typography represents the solid foundation we provide while the clean lines of “Communities” underneath show our modern and approachable spirit. It is a design built on clarity and respect.
- The Teal Palette: We have chosen a palette led by a sophisticated teal. This represents the stability and safety of our homes. It is a color of professional trust and reliability showing that our clinical standards are grounded and strong.
- The Soft Pink: To balance our professional strength, we have introduced a soft pink. This represents the warmth humanity and kindness at the heart of our care. It is the color of the tulips in our office and the gentle support we provide every day.
- Grounding Grays and Whites: Our new look is built on a base of clean grays and crisp whites. This represents a fresh start and the clear transparent communication we promise to every family.

Why Branding Matters
You might wonder why a change in logos and names is so important. For us branding is about identity and pride. We want our participants to feel proud when they see the Shine logo on our Coffee Van or in their homes. We want our staff to feel a sense of belonging when they wear their uniform.
A clear and professional brand tells the world that the disability sector deserves excellence. It shows that we are a modern forward thinking organisation that values the dignity of those we serve.

While our look and our name have changed our heart remains the same. Our mission to change perceptions and create a brighter future is stronger than ever. We are still the same dedicated team providing one on one support building lives of purpose and celebrating every victory along the way.
